About the position
The IT and Application Support Specialist at Douglas Gardens Community Mental Health Center is responsible for providing technical support across all departments and locations. This role serves as the first point of contact for staff regarding IT issues and support, ensuring the smooth operation of computer systems, networks, and various technology-related equipment. The specialist will manage the center's EHR application, provide training, troubleshoot issues, and maintain hardware and software inventory, all while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
Responsibilities
- Manage and support the Center's EHR application Avatar NX and other software used at the center.
- Triages support cases and manages updates installation and deployment of new components.
- Arrange training and assist users with Microsoft Office products and other software.
- Communicate effectively with end-users to understand and resolve technical issues.
- Maintain a call log with issues and perform problem diagnosis for hardware and software problems.
- Troubleshoot printer, fax, phone systems, and other technology-related equipment.
- Implement new technology and system upgrades as needed.
- Set up workstations, hardware, and software.
- Keep hardware and software inventory.
- Coordinate with vendors servicing IT-related equipment and software.
- Ensure efficient LAN/WAN connectivity for all network users in conjunction with the CIO.
- Maintain a network security system to protect data integrity.
- Provide custom configurations/setups for AV presentations as needed.
Requirements
- Preferred Associate of Arts degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience in IT.
- 2 years of experience in a computer help desk position.
- Ability to travel between worksites for IT support.
- Excellent verbal and written skills in English.
