About the position

The IT Application and Hardware Administrator at Mid Penn Bank plays a crucial role in managing, maintaining, and supporting various application infrastructures and user-facing hardware. This position is essential for ensuring that the bank's technology systems operate smoothly and efficiently, which directly impacts the overall banking experience for customers. The administrator will proactively identify potential issues within the application and hardware environments and implement solutions or make recommendations for improvements. This role also involves providing technical support to staff and reporting relevant information to the immediate supervisor, ensuring that all inquiries or requests for information are addressed promptly. In terms of application administration, the IT Application and Hardware Administrator will be responsible for installing, configuring, and administering various software applications that support business operations. This includes core banking systems, lending applications, and IT management tools. The administrator will monitor application performance, troubleshoot software issues, and collaborate with the System Team to implement necessary updates and enhancements. Ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance within applications is a critical aspect of this role. On the hardware side, the administrator will set up and deploy user-facing hardware such as desktops, laptops, printers, and phones. This includes performing installations, updates, and upgrades on end-user devices, diagnosing hardware issues, and maintaining an accurate inventory of user-facing hardware. Collaboration with procurement to order new hardware that meets compatibility and standards is also part of the job. The role requires a strong focus on security and compliance, as the administrator will implement security measures on user-facing hardware and applications, assist the Information Security team, and contribute to data protection efforts. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Help Desk, Network Team, and external vendors, is essential for resolving complex technical issues and aligning hardware and application strategies. Continuous improvement is a key responsibility, as the administrator will proactively seek opportunities for process enhancement and participate in technology evaluations to recommend upgrades. The position may require travel to other physical locations to address various problems, and the administrator will be expected to maintain current knowledge of industry-specific technology trends and applications. Overall, this role is vital for supporting the bank's core processing systems and ensuring that staff have the necessary tools and training to perform their jobs effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with external vendors and support teams to resolve complex technical issues.

  • Maintains current knowledge of the various applications utilized by the organization; keeps current on all industry-specific emerging technology trends.
  • Supports end users with the Bank's core processing systems, integrated or ancillary technologies and applications in a Citrix environment.

  • Responds to inquiries relating to his/her Applications and/or Hardware within given time frames and within established policy.
  • Documents detailed problem resolutions to enhance Knowledge Base of used applications and hardware.
  • Utilizes the organization's current report writing tools to create or update special request reports.
  • Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested, or according to an established schedule; compiles information as necessary or as directed and provides data to appropriate personnel.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in application administration and end-user hardware management.
  • Proficiency in deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting hardware and software.
  • Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux) and bank related productivity software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
  • Knowledge of IT security best practices and data privacy regulations.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator, ITIL) are a plus.
  • A minimum of three (3) years' related experience normally required.
