About the position

The Application Developer at WaFd Bank is responsible for developing and maintaining applications and lightweight software tools for both internal and external customers. This role emphasizes the design, development, and maintenance of web applications and robust APIs, ensuring seamless data exchange while adhering to the bank's operational standards and values of kindness in service.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain web applications, REST APIs, and scripts to support business requirements.
  • Design and build application interfaces and services based on user specifications.
  • Utilize Microsoft .Net technologies, SharePoint, and SQL Server to create applications that automate business processes.
  • Create, optimize, and maintain APIs for communication between software systems.
  • Implement security measures and authentication protocols for data integrity.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to application components and APIs.
  • Comply with programming methodologies and the Bank's software development life cycle.
  • Conduct requirements analysis with subject matter experts and users.
  • Participate in architecture and design reviews.
  • Document API specifications and usage guidelines for developers.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to team members.
  • Stay updated on trends in API development and full-stack technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in application development.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft .NET framework, C#, Python, JavaScript, T-SQL, and SQL Server.
  • Proven experience as a Full Stack developer with a focus on API development.
  • In-depth knowledge of API design principles and best practices.
  • Familiarity with authentication and authorization protocols (e.g., OAuth, JWT).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with API documentation tools (e.g., Swagger, Postman).
  • Knowledge of Azure DevOps for managing code repositories and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with serverless applications using AWS Lambda.
