About the position

The IT Applications Developer at Northern Arizona Health is responsible for all phases of the software development lifecycle, including design, development, documentation, testing, deployment, and maintenance of ITSM software. This role requires collaboration with business clients to refine and debug programs, ensuring they meet business needs. The developer will also interact with third-party partners and must possess strong programming skills, creativity, and innovative thinking to deliver advanced customer solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates fundamental programming skills for the development, manipulation and/or implementation of source code for new and existing applications.
  • Responsible for quality assurance and review of source code modification and/or development prior to implementation to ensure safe, efficient and stable code.
  • Ability to define business requirements and translate them into appropriate software solutions that meet the customer’s needs.
  • Demonstrates extensive analysis techniques to provide resolution using Incident Management and Change Management processes, in line with ITSM Guidelines.
  • Demonstrates strategic thinking around application enhancement and development within Northern Arizona Healthcare.
  • Supports the use and expansion of existing platforms.
  • Participates in, recommends and helps prioritize project-based deployments.
  • Works with customers and departmental contacts to help identify approach and establish implementation and scheduling.
  • Utilizes a thorough understanding of hospital inpatient, clinic outpatient operations and/or systems to provide support for the product lines he/she is responsible for.
  • Diagnoses and troubleshoots issues, providing technical, clinical and business resolutions.
  • Responsible for special functions and duties as directed by management.
  • Utilizes tools, controls, techniques, established principles and standards to ascertain the quality, effectiveness, security and accuracy of infrastructure systems.
  • Responsible for reporting any safety-related incident in a timely fashion through the Midas/RDE tool; attends all safety-related training programs; performs work in a safe manner; monitors work environment for possible safety issues and ensures others are also performing work in a safe manner.

Requirements

  • Degree in Information Systems (IS), Computer Science, or related field or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Associate's Degree or 2 years' work related experience as a System Developer - required.
  • ITIL v3 (or higher) Foundation - Preferred.
  • 4 years of IT Experience - Required.
  • 4 years working within Healthcare - Preferred.
  • Minimum three (4) years programming experience in one of the following coding/scripting languages: C, C++, Python, Java with a desire to learn - Required.
