About the position

The IT Application Manager for Warehousing & Logistics at Foster Farms is responsible for overseeing the planning, organization, direction, and improvement of application systems related to warehousing, yard management, and transportation management. This role involves ensuring that IT customer requirements are met through effective management of application systems, developing business cases, and coordinating support activities to enhance system reliability and efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Manage the activities related to assigned application systems for warehousing and logistics.
• Develop plans to deliver systems and services that meet business needs.
• Coordinate planning, execution, and support activities of assigned application systems.
• Evaluate client requests and implement long-term solutions in collaboration with senior IT management.
• Develop business cases and ROI analysis for proposed application solutions.
• Function as a business consultant for assigned functions and establish commitments with clients.
• Ensure compliance with established IT and business systems policies and methodologies.
• Manage the development of new systems and technology applications that support business operations.
• Ensure timely implementation of systems that meet client expectations and technical standards.
• Manage baseline support and maintenance activities for existing application systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, management/business information systems, or related field.
• 8-10 years of experience in business systems development, enhancement, and maintenance.
• 3-5 years of experience managing complex business systems projects.
• 2+ years managing multiple, complex business systems projects with aggressive milestones.
• Supervisory experience in an IT environment.
• Excellent critical thinking skills and ability to envision creative solutions to complex issues.
• Strong interpersonal and management skills with effective communication abilities.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's Degree in a related field.
• 8+ years of IT experience in a manufacturing organization with revenues over $1 billion.
• Experience managing application systems in an SAP/ERP environment.
• Proven track record of developing talent and creating IT talent development programs.
