About the position

The IT Application Support Specialist is responsible for providing technical assistance and support to various system users within the organization. This role involves identifying and resolving system issues, creating or updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and managing user access roles and groups. The specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring that software applications function effectively and meet the needs of users. This includes running and monitoring software performance tests on both new and existing programs to correct errors, isolate areas for improvement, and perform general debugging tasks. In addition to technical responsibilities, the IT Application Support Specialist will assist in the preparation and documentation of software requirements and specifications, ensuring that user needs are accurately captured and addressed. The role requires collaboration with IT security administrators, network engineers, system engineers, and other software developers to resolve issues related to software products or company systems. The specialist is expected to maintain a high level of customer service, adhering to department and company standards while ensuring a professional work environment. The position also involves maintaining confidentiality of all company information, participating in meetings and training sessions, and performing other duties as assigned by management. The specialist must demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in learning new technologies and effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment, working both independently and collaboratively with team members.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and documentation of software requirements and specifications.
  • Research and document requirements of software users.
  • Create and maintain user access on various applications.
  • Run and monitor software performance tests on new and existing programs for the purposes of correcting errors, isolating areas for improvement, and general debugging.
  • Administer critical analysis of test results and deliver solutions to problem areas.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of user manuals and guidelines.
  • Install software products for end users as required.
  • Work with IT security administrators, network engineers, system engineers, and other software developers to assist in resolving problems with software products or company software systems.
  • Enthusiastically support, actively promote and demonstrate superior customer service in accordance with department and company standards and programs.
  • Ensure behavior and appearance are in compliance with established standards.
  • Maintain a professional work environment with management and staff.
  • Participate in meetings and training as required.
  • Maintain complete confidentiality of all company information at all times.
  • Perform all job duties in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by department and/or company management within the scope of this position.

Requirements

  • Experience working with enterprise applications, including Casino Management systems (Konami Synkros), Everi Promotion and Enrollment kiosk, Lodging Management systems (iSeries - Agilysys LMS), Document Management system (Agilysys - Datamagine), ERP systems (iSeries - Infinium), Payroll/Time Clock systems (Unifocus), Procurement Sourcing systems (iSeries - Stratton Warren), Point-of-Sale (windows - Infogenesis).
  • Hands-on experience working in integrated development environments, including systems outlined above.
  • Knowledge of Windows Operating Systems.
  • Familiarity with SQL Server and SQL Server Management Studio.
  • Experience with OS400 operating systems.
  • Familiarity with the Casino and Hospitality industry.
  • Hands-on software troubleshooting experience.
  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable in regards to learning and understanding new technologies.
  • Conduct research into software-related issues and products.
  • Technically proficient; Self-motivated and directed; Keen attention to detail; Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
