About the position

The IT Applications Co-Op position at Boston Properties is designed to assist with day-to-day operations and project-related responsibilities within the Network Services department. The role involves collaboration with Network Engineers to support, maintain, and implement various technologies, including new construction design, endpoint connectivity, and service optimization. The position also includes dedicated project work that contributes to enhancing the IS Department.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily operations of the Network Services department.
• Support the development of assigned network, data center, and cloud tools.
• Monitor enterprise networks and servers daily.
• Investigate active and potential outages within the network environment.
• Help develop company-wide networking, data center, and cloud best practices.
• Research technology enhancements and make recommendations.
• Create and maintain documentation for internal operations.
• Conduct research on new technologies and products.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in coursework in Computer Sciences or a related field.
• Possess a service-oriented attitude when working with others.
• Detail-oriented and methodical in problem-solving and project management.
• Aptitude for learning technical concepts quickly.
• Results-oriented and quick learner in supporting new products and technologies.
• Strong knowledge of relational databases and accounting practices.
• Working knowledge of Windows 7 and Office 2010, and at least one software package in word processing and spreadsheets.
