About the position

The IT Applications Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing the product lifecycle management (PLM) system administration and ensuring that the PLM applications align with the overall business strategy. This position is crucial for managing and directing resources for PLM applications, leading the research, design, and development of PLM solutions that support both current and future business needs. The manager will collaborate closely with business partners to identify opportunities for streamlining operations through standardization and sharing best practices across various facilities and business units. In addition to managing PLM and CAD upgrade projects, the IT Applications Manager will implement and monitor master data governance and standardization for PLM. This role requires a deep understanding of business processes and the ability to apply technological solutions to enhance key business and manufacturing processes. The manager will serve as the central point of contact for all PLM system administration, implementation, and support, ensuring that all projects are delivered with a high level of quality and meet business requirements. The position also involves providing oversight for vendor engagements, managing contracts related to PLM and CAD, and ensuring compliance with industry standards for data classification and processing. The IT Applications Manager will report directly to the IT director and provide support to global engineering directors, making this a strategic role within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the realization of application strategy and roadmap in alignment with the business strategy.
  • Manage and direct resources for PLM applications.
  • Lead the research, design, and development of PLM solutions to support current and future business needs.
  • Collaborate with business partners in identifying opportunities to streamline their operations with standardization and share best practices among facilities and business units.
  • Understand the business processes and apply technological solutions to continuously improve key business and manufacturing processes.
  • Serve as a central point of contact for all PLM system administration, implementation, and support.
  • Manage and lead PLM and CAD upgrade projects.
  • Implement, control, and monitor master data governance and standardization for PLM.
  • Understand current business initiatives, technology trends, and best practices for value creation.
  • Work with project stakeholders to understand business outcomes and strategy to recommend solution options that provide the best fit against requirements and budget.
  • Manage and deliver complex projects with a high level of quality while ensuring functionalities meet business requirements.
  • Ensure business continuity and disaster recovery for the PLM environment.
  • Provide oversight and coordinate all vendor engagements.
  • Provide oversight, due diligence, negotiation, and coordination for PLM and CAD contracts.
  • Ensure proper PLM and CAD data classification, storage, transfer, processing, access provisioning, and maintenance under industry standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an information technology or related field preferred or five (5) years of experience working within an IT Support environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years of product life cycle management experience.
  • Knowledge of PTC products (Windchill, Creo, ThingWorx) and CAD software (Catia, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.) is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of PLM and CAD design.
  • Extensive experience in PLM implementation and/or configuration.
  • Demonstrated experience with industry best practices and implementing these into PLM business processes.
  • Ability to express complex concepts effectively to the business and technical resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee multiple concurrent projects.
  • Experience in business process re-engineering or process improvement, involving broad-based information systems.
  • Project management experience managing large-scale, global implementations.
