About the position

The IT Applications Solution Architect Sr QA Automation Engineer is responsible for automating web-based applications, mobile automation, and API testing. This role requires extensive experience in web services, automated testing tools, and quality assurance practices. The engineer will develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts, ensuring the quality and performance of software applications in an Agile development environment.

Responsibilities

• Creating, maintaining, and evaluating software automation test scripts for both UI and API, including incorporation of dynamic test data.
• Training others regarding automation test concepts and providing guidance when needed.
• Gathering and validating application functional, performance, and load requirements, along with test results reporting.
• Creating and maintaining test plans and test cases, defect reporting, and tracking in JIRA.
• Executing manual and automated software testing in areas such as installation, functional, performance, load, integration, and regression testing.
• Documenting process improvements regarding best practices in test automation and generating test execution reports.
• Coordinating and prioritizing test development activities while working with multiple development teams and software projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a similar discipline, or equivalent work experience.
• 7+ years of structured software quality assurance engineering experience.
• 7+ years of hands-on experience with the development of automated test scripts, execution of test cases, and reporting of test results.
• Experience with automating web-based applications, mobile automation, and APIs.
• Extensive work experience in web services, SOAP, Restful services, IBM Messaging Q's, XML, and JSON services.
• Experience with automated testing tools like Java+Selenium, Cucumber.
• Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, SoapUI, and Rest-assured.
• Software development experience with structured programming languages such as .Net, Java, and Python.
• Experience with quality assurance practices and testing methodologies.
• Experience with test plan and test case development and execution.
• Experience with MS SQL Server, BitBucket, JIRA, Xray, and Postman.
• Experience deploying in CI/CD and using Build Pipelines.
• Demonstrated documentation and reporting skills.
• Experience with commercial defect management systems.
• Experience training small teams regarding test engineering concepts.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
