About the position

The IT Architect - Epic is responsible for the design, implementation, training, documentation, operation, and support of Clinical or Business applications and reports. This role involves optimizing applications within a portfolio, understanding interdependencies among applications, and contributing to system goals such as patient safety and efficient operations. The Architect collaborates with various stakeholders and may serve as a liaison to clinical or business departments, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Support application staff in planning, design/build, testing, implementation, and operational needs.
  • Assemble and lead cross-functional teams to assess new requests and estimate work effort.
  • Lead overall design and architecture of cross-functional solutions in partnership with operations and stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot technical problems and conduct analyses for efficient program/application solutions.
  • Coordinate solutions and planning with other IT teams and collaborate with analysts to resolve workflow impacts.
  • Identify inefficiencies and recommend solutions for application design improvements.
  • Provide knowledge leadership on a portfolio of applications and organize cross-functional training.
  • Communicate status of work in progress to project teams and stakeholders.
  • Research trends and best practices in healthcare application software.
  • Participate in leadership of overall direction of application environment and key meetings with Operational Leaders.
  • Promote workflow analysis and redesign associated with system applications implementation and optimization.
  • Advise staff on processes that improve efficiency with software adoption.
  • Recommend process and workflow configurations to align with best practices and compliance.
  • Support teams in investigating, testing, and resolving application-related problems.
  • Promote and adhere to system standards and best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred.
  • Five (5) years of experience in technical, clinical, or revenue cycle workflows.
  • Strong knowledge of engineering approaches in design, build, testing, and debugging.
  • Ability to articulate workflows and processes associated with IT experience.
  • Epic Certification in designated Application.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with healthcare application software.
  • Knowledge of revenue cycle reports and processes.
