About the position

The IT Asset and Support Specialist plays a critical role in managing the organization's IT assets and providing comprehensive office support services. This position involves overseeing inventory management of hardware and software, ensuring compliance with company requirements, and facilitating smooth office operations by maintaining equipment and managing supplies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular audits and inventory checks of IT assets, including computers, servers, and network equipment.
• Organize and maintain the IT warehouse, including shelving, labeling, and categorizing assets.
• Track and update asset disposal, transfers, and acquisitions, coordinating with relevant departments.
• Implement effective storage solutions and manage space within the warehouse.
• Maintain documentation for all IT assets, ensuring detailed records for each item's status, condition, and location.
• Track payments and manage purchase order entries for procurement and inventory expenditures.
• Diagnose and resolve computer issues for office staff, including hardware malfunctions and software errors.
• Provide timely technical support to minimize disruption to office workflows.
• Record troubleshooting steps and resolutions in a ticketing system for issue tracking.
• Assist in setting up and configuring new computers and user accounts.
• Educate office staff on basic troubleshooting steps and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or related field.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with inventory management systems and practices.
• Ability to lift and move equipment as needed.
• Proficiency in asset tracking, reporting software, and ticketing systems.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with IT and administrative teams.
• Proven experience in IT support and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency in Windows and Mac operating systems and common office applications.
• Knowledge of computers; CompTIA certification and/or a degree in Computer Science or CCNA is a plus.
