About the position
The IT Asset Management Analyst will support client operations at the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) by managing hardware and software assets using ServiceNow. This role involves maintaining the Hardware Asset Management (HAM) and Software Asset Management (SAM) modules, developing internal procedures, creating asset records, reconciling licenses, and preparing reports to maximize asset value while managing costs, risks, and compliance throughout the asset lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Maintain the HAM Pro/SAM Pro modules in ServiceNow, including enhancements, testing, and upgrades.
- Develop internal operating procedures for asset management.
- Create asset records for all new purchases.
- Reconcile asset licenses and prepare reports on asset management.
- Analyze IT asset data for cost, risk, and compliance.
- Manage IT assets throughout their lifecycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field with four years of relevant experience, or ten years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
- Experience analyzing IT asset data for cost, risk, and compliance.
- Experience managing IT assets through their lifecycle.
- Understanding of software licensing and hardware configurations.
- Experience with ServiceNow Asset Module (HAM/SAM).
- Experience maintaining an IT Hardware or Software asset repository.
- Experience producing reports and presentations.
- At least two years of experience administering and developing the hardware and software asset modules in ServiceNow.
- Advanced Excel functionality and data manipulation experience.
- Extensive knowledge of asset discovery tools such as SCCM and ServiceNow.
Nice-to-haves
- Certified in ServiceNow Administration and Development.
- Experience creating software entitlement records in SAM Pro.
