The IT Asset Management Analyst will play a crucial role in the Business Operations team at Metropolitan State University of Denver, reporting directly to the Hardware Asset Manager. This position is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations related to technology hardware assets within the university. The analyst will monitor and record hardware assets to ensure compliance with vendor contracts and will be tasked with reporting on compliance with IT Asset Management (ITAM) processes. The role requires maintaining best practice standards, systems, and measurements associated with ITAM processes. A successful candidate will be analytically driven and possess excellent written and oral communication skills. In terms of hardware purchasing and receiving, the analyst will utilize the IT Service Management tool to support daily operations related to hardware purchases. This includes communicating with clients regarding their purchase statuses and monitoring contracts for ITAM renewals. The analyst will collaborate with Information Technology Services (ITS) and vendor relationships to gather quotes and agreements for hardware renewals, following procurement procedures to initiate purchases through the use of a corporate card or requisitions using the designated ERP tool. The role also encompasses hardware asset lifecycle management, where the analyst will manage hardware assets and configuration items from acquisition to disposition, adhering to ITAM industry best practices. This includes overseeing computing, audio and visual, network, and server equipment. The analyst will coordinate the acquisition and proper disposal of leased hardware and ensure that hardware assets are accurately recorded in the ITSM tool along with their corresponding attributes. Proper disposal of e-waste will also be a critical responsibility as hardware assets are retired. Additionally, the analyst will be involved in hardware asset audit and compliance, documenting practical procedures to meet the needs of ITS teams in managing the hardware lifecycle. They will assess and optimize asset management processes to ensure they meet the ongoing requirements of ITS and the institution. Developing reporting models in the ITSM tool to guide future expenditure conversations and performing audits to maintain asset records will also be part of the role. Special projects may be assigned at the discretion of the Hardware Asset Manager, providing opportunities for professional growth and development.
