About the position

The IT Asset Management Analyst will oversee the lifecycle of IT assets within the organization, ensuring proper tracking, compliance, and optimization of hardware assets. This role requires strong analytical skills and experience with asset management systems, focusing on maintaining accurate inventory and supporting procurement processes.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all hardware assets.
  • Track the lifecycle of assets from procurement to decommissioning, ensuring proper documentation and updates in the asset management system.
  • Coordinate with various departments to ensure timely and accurate updates to asset records.
  • Support the procurement process by reviewing asset requirements, assisting with purchase orders, and ensuring that assets are acquired according to needs.
  • Conduct regular audits and reconciliation of IT assets to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Generate regular reports on asset status, usage, lifecycle, and disposal for management review.
  • Analyze asset utilization and recommend improvements for cost optimization, asset consolidation, or end-of-life planning.
  • Ensure that all IT assets are properly secured and decommissioned for data protection and disposal, including the wiping of data from devices.
  • Liaise with various departments (IT, Finance, Procurement, Legal) to ensure seamless asset management and resolve any asset-related issues.
  • Provide guidance and training to staff on asset management best practices.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve processes for asset and inventory management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2+ years of experience in IT asset management, IT operations, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with asset management software (e.g., ServiceNow, SCCM, Lansweeper, or similar tools).
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.
  • Knowledge of IT hardware models.
  • Understanding of IT lifecycle management and industry best practices.
  • Familiarity with compliance, IT security protocols, and data protection regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • ITIL, IAITAM certification or other relevant certifications in asset management.
  • Experience with cloud-based asset management tools (e.g., Google Apps).
  • Understanding of industry standards for asset management and auditing (e.g., ISO 19770).
  • Experience working in a mid to large, enterprise-level organization.
