About the position

The IT Asset Management Specialist, Jr. at Semper Valens Solutions is responsible for supporting the Information Technology Asset Management (ITAM) Framework, which involves planning, acquiring, monitoring, and disposing of IT assets. This role is crucial for ensuring that the base defense information system assets are properly managed, maintained, and compliant with cybersecurity requirements. The position requires collaboration with the IT Asset Manager and the systems engineering team to track and report on IT assets, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical support.

Responsibilities

• Support the ITAM Framework for planning, acquiring, and managing IT assets.
• Analyze and evaluate systems for compliance with configurations and cybersecurity requirements.
• Inventory, track, and report on existing IT assets for the program.
• Collect and analyze data to assess system performance and health.
• Troubleshoot and provide technical support to users under the direction of the IT Asset Manager.
• Review and recommend updates to software specifications as needed.
• Document systems and communicate discrepancies or required changes using Microsoft Office and other tools.

Requirements

• AA/AS degree with 3-5 years of relevant experience (or 6 years of experience in lieu of a degree).
• DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II Computing Environment (CE) Certification such as CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent.
• US Secret security clearance required or ability to obtain within six months.

Nice-to-haves

• Superior comprehension of IT asset management workflows.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts and their impacts on hardware and software in the DoD space.
• Understanding of network engineering, configurations, and administration.
