About the position

The IT Asset Management Specialist is responsible for overseeing the company's asset management processes and procedures to ensure compliance and optimization of IT hardware and software. This role involves managing the lifecycle of IT assets, including tracking, purchasing, imaging, shipping, and receiving, while collaborating with IT management and other stakeholders to maintain a sustainable asset management capability.

Responsibilities

• Receive computer hardware including laptops, PCs, servers, and switches.
• Ensure all received hardware is in order and send to the hardware team for configuration.
• Repack and ship configured hardware to recipients.
• Track all assets within the ticketing/asset management system.
• Conduct inventory auditing to ensure proper allocation of IT asset purchases and address discrepancies.
• Participate in the development and maintenance of asset management policies and procedures.
• Write and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for asset management processes.
• Assist in ensuring software purchases are completed cost-effectively and in compliance with licensing requirements.
• Participate in projects requiring procurement and vendor coordination.
• Manage the procurement and shipping of IT equipment and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting of computers and imaging processes.
• Log, route, categorize, and escalate incidents and service requests.
• Provide outstanding customer service and communicate effectively with customers.

Requirements

• 3+ years of previous asset management or inventory management experience.
• Effective planning and organizational skills including time management.
• Effective communication and documentation skills.
• Strong problem-solving efficiency and critical thinking.

Nice-to-haves

• Intermediate knowledge of Excel/Smartsheet (pivot tables, CSV exports, etc.) along with MS Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
