Our work depends on a Video Teleconferencing Engineer, joining our team to support the Department of Energy activities at various locations in the United States. At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As an Asset Management Technician, supporting the Department of Energy, you will be trusted to work on complex projects and be responsible for providing technical, administrative, and operational management of a variety of development efforts and projects ranging from simple to complex. The Asset Management Technician will update processes to catalog existing assets, dispose of EOL assets, and order replacements where necessary, referencing existing government processes and toolsets. You will work with federal management to update and drive a process, account for assets, dispose of assets, list assets for disposal, report assets inventoried, and report assets disposed. You will also participate in special projects as required and must have the ability to work well with others and communicate effectively with supervisors and government customers. Your success will be measured through an accurate asset inventory and timely reporting of inventory and disposal information.

Responsibilities

  • Update processes to catalog existing assets.
  • Dispose of EOL (End of Life) assets and order replacements where necessary.
  • Work with federal management to update and drive asset management processes.
  • Account for assets and ensure accurate inventory records.
  • List assets for disposal and report on assets inventoried and disposed.
  • Participate in special projects as required.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and government customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Information Technology or a related field.
  • 8+ years of related experience in asset management.
  • Strong knowledge of asset management processes and procedures.
  • Excellent inventory and cost-management skills.
  • Experience with various licensing models and understanding of hardware contracts.
  • Strong experience in ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow.
  • Strong experience in asset scanning technologies and solutions.
  • Experience in identifying and creating workflows.
  • Submit to random drug screening.
  • US Citizenship required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Mobile Phone assets.
  • Asset Management Certification preferred.
  • Experience with Sunflower Asset Management Systems a plus.
