About the position

BAE Systems is seeking an experienced IT Asset Manager to support our client. The IT Asset Manager will be responsible for overseeing the lifecycle management of IT assets within the organization. This includes procurement, deployment, maintenance, utilization, and disposal of hardware and software assets. The ideal candidate will ensure that our IT assets are managed efficiently, cost-effectively, and in compliance with company policies and industry standards. In this role, you will manage the entire lifecycle of IT assets, from acquisition to disposal. You will maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all IT assets using asset management software. Additionally, you will develop and implement asset management policies, procedures, and standards. Conducting regular audits and inventories to ensure data accuracy and compliance will be a key responsibility. You will collaborate with procurement, finance, and IT teams to optimize asset usage and cost, monitor and manage software licenses to ensure compliance with vendor agreements, and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements. Furthermore, you will provide training and support to staff on asset management processes and tools, generate reports and metrics on asset performance, utilization, and lifecycle status, and stay updated with industry best practices and trends in IT asset management. Regular communication of updates, reports, and deliverables to stakeholders will also be part of your responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in IT asset management or a related role, preferably within large enterprise settings.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel (including lookups, pivot tables, and fuzzy lookups).
  • Proficiency in JIRA and ServiceNow.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of IT asset management software and tools is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in business administration, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Certification in IT Asset Management (e.g., ITIL, CHAMP, CITAM).
  • Experience with enterprise asset management systems.
  • Understanding of software licensing and compliance.
  • Prior Government experience and/or PACES experience preferred.
