The IT Asset Manager at Klein Tools is a pivotal role responsible for the strategic management of technology-related hardware within the organization. This position encompasses a wide range of responsibilities, including the planning, procurement, monitoring, and tracking of hardware assets to ensure compliance with vendor contracts. The IT Asset Manager will also coordinate software and software licensing across these assets, ensuring that the organization optimizes its technology spending. This role is essential in developing and implementing procedures for tracking company assets, overseeing quality control throughout their lifecycles, and ensuring that all technology-related assets are managed effectively. In this role, the IT Asset Manager will oversee the development, maintenance, and execution of an asset management program that includes policies, processes, procedures, tools, and reporting. The individual will manage the tracking and inventory of all technology-related assets, which includes desktops, laptops, infrastructure assets, phones, mobile devices, and more. Regular physical inventories will be performed at all locations to ensure that appropriate data is gathered and uploaded to the relevant systems. The IT Asset Manager will also conduct required audits, coordinate updates of incorrect data, and run scheduled reports to ensure that all data remains accurate and up to date. Additionally, the IT Asset Manager will identify equipment shortages and new requests, validate asset specifications to ensure they align with the intended business use, and work with vendors to obtain quotes. Once approved, the manager will ensure that new systems are added to the appropriate systems. The role also involves assisting with computer asset refreshes by verifying and placing orders, auditing and reporting on the refresh process, and deploying new devices to end users as required. Furthermore, the IT Asset Manager will manage the technology-related asset admission process, which includes inventorying and scheduling third-party e-waste pickups, ensuring that all destruction documentation is updated, and verifying that all asset details are correct in the appropriate systems. The individual will also assist in planning and managing software and software licensing on technology-related assets, ensuring license optimization and compliance with technology-related assets and software. Lastly, managing vendor relationships with third-party asset providers in the areas of telecommunications, mobile, and audio-visual will be a key responsibility.
