About the position

The IT Associate Security Analyst will play a crucial role in supporting the Security Program that protects Eversource's Operational Technology (OT) systems. This position involves administering computer assets, networks, and information systems that are vital for maintaining Critical Infrastructure. The analyst will also be responsible for supporting the security controls and the team that manages the NERC CIP compliance requirements for Eversource's Critical Infrastructure. In this role, the IT Associate Security Analyst will evaluate, test, monitor, and maintain OT cyber security policies, procedures, and systems. They will create and oversee OT systems to meet specific security needs and complex security standards. It is essential for the analyst to ensure that OT cyber security plans, controls, processes, standards, policies, and procedures are aligned with OT standards and overall cyber security objectives. The analyst will identify security risks and exposures, determine the causes of security violations, and suggest procedures to prevent future incidents while improving overall security. Additionally, the analyst will develop documentation and procedures for conducting OT cyber security regulatory and compliance audits. This includes evaluating and testing hardware, firmware, and software for potential impacts on system security, as well as investigating and resolving security incidents such as intrusions, fraud, attacks, or leaks. This position requires a proactive approach to maintaining the integrity and security of Eversource's critical systems.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, test, monitor, and maintain OT cyber security policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Create and oversee OT systems to meet specific security needs and complex security standards.
  • Ensure OT cyber security plans, controls, processes, standards, policies, and procedures are aligned with OT standards and overall cyber security.
  • Identify security risks and exposures, determine causes of security violations, and suggest procedures to prevent future incidents.
  • Develop documentation and procedures for conducting OT cyber security regulatory and compliance audits.
  • Evaluate and test hardware, firmware, and software for possible impacts on system security.
  • Investigate and resolve security incidents such as intrusions, frauds, attacks, or leaks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems or equivalent.
  • Zero (0) to three (3) years of professional experience in a similar role.
  • Experience with security perimeter technology, Operating System security, logging and monitoring tools, malware prevention, policy and procedure, Active Directory, risk assessments, and security awareness.

Nice-to-haves

  • Understanding of Security Standards and Industrial Control Systems.
  • Knowledge of networking, infrastructure, and system integration principles.
