About the position

The IT Audit Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring that the company's operations adhere to established guidelines, policies, and legal requirements, particularly in relation to the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Act Section 404. This position involves a variety of analytical, process documentation, and auditing functions that are essential for maintaining the integrity of the company's financial reporting and operational processes. The analyst will be responsible for planning and executing both technical and operational control assessments, conducting key report reviews, and performing project audits across a broad range of the company's operations. This ensures that all functional areas are compliant with the necessary regulations and standards. In addition to conducting audits, the IT Audit Analyst will engage in data creation and validation testing, providing valuable insights and analysis to both internal and external customers regarding current and potential business outcomes. The role requires the preparation of detailed reports for management that outline the results of audits, along with actionable recommendations for improvements. The analyst will also be expected to manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintain relationships with various levels of management, and contribute to the risk assessment process and the development of the audit plan. The position demands a proactive approach to identifying process and control improvement opportunities, as well as the ability to communicate these findings effectively to team leaders and management. Responsibilities

  • Plan and perform technical and operational control assessments, key report reviews, and project audits.
  • Test data creation and perform data validation testing.
  • Assist the audit team in consulting and special projects, and other duties as assigned.
  • Support internal and external customers with data analysis and insights on business outcomes.
  • Conduct audit fieldwork in accordance with department standards.
  • Prepare reports for management on audit results and provide recommendations for improvements.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Maintain relationships with management and employees to promote controlled processes and financial reporting.
  • Contribute to the risk assessment process and development of the audit plan.
  • Interface with and assist outside auditors to expedite their work.
  • Meet timely targets for assigned projects.
  • Identify process and control improvement opportunities and communicate them to management.
  • Maintain continuous professional development and training for certifications.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance, information systems, general business, or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of IT Audit or Information Technology experience, or a related job function.
  • Knowledge of SQL, Power BI, or equivalent BI tools.
  • Experience analyzing data requirements for complex projects.
  • Experience with data validation techniques.
  • Excellent analysis and data logic skills.
  • Knowledgeable in information technology, general accounting and finance concepts, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
  • Working knowledge of process analysis tools and techniques, computer-assisted audit techniques, and data analysis.
  • Interviewing, documentation, and presentation skills.
  • PC skills are essential - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Nice-to-haves

  • Dual degrees and/or advanced degrees.
  • Additional audit or IT designations such as CISA, CISSP, or CIA.
  • Experience in IT Audit or Information Technology.
