About the position

The IT Audit Consultant role focuses on executing data-related IT audits and contributing to the development of a data governance testing program for a Global Investment Bank. The consultant will analyze systems from a data governance and risk/controls perspective, particularly in regulatory reporting audits, while leveraging strong data analysis skills, including SQL, to work with large datasets. The position aims to enhance the firm's control environment by reviewing IT applications and improving data quality and governance standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform technology risk and controls reviews in a complex business and technology environment.
• Design tests for data quality, lineage, and controls across various products and processes.
• Interact with technology stakeholders and business auditors, requiring a blend of technology skills and business knowledge.
• Take ownership of fieldwork testing by engaging with audit clients to understand flows and controls.
• Develop effective testing approaches and execute tests within audit timelines.

Requirements

• Strong background in technology, particularly in data architecture, data modeling, and object-oriented programming within financial services.
• Project experience with Financial/Securities Data.
• Understanding of IT Audit and Technology Controls.
• Knowledge of data governance and data quality principles.
• Prior experience in capital markets is essential.
• Data analysis skills with proficiency in SQL for large datasets.
• Experience in Data Modeling and/or Data Profiling.
• Strong Business and Functional Analysis skills.
• Experience in documenting system workflows and data mapping.
• Excellent communication skills for producing clear documentation.

Nice-to-haves

• Prior experience conducting IT Audits within the banking industry.
• Previous IT Audit experience is a plus.
• Ability to read Java code is a plus.
