About the position

The IT Budget & Sourcing Analyst at FTS Inc. plays a crucial role in collaborating with IT and business leaders to develop and manage the IT Capital, Operation, and Maintenance budgets. This position involves forecasting expenses, distributing funds across various projects, and ensuring that financial resources are aligned with the organization's strategic goals. The analyst will be responsible for analyzing financial data related to IT expenditures, which includes tracking actual spending against budgeted amounts, identifying variances, and providing insights into the financial performance of IT initiatives. In addition to managing current budgets, the analyst will forecast future financial needs based on upcoming IT projects and business requirements. This forecasting enables IT leaders to effectively plan resource allocation and make necessary budget adjustments. The role also supports the evaluation of new accounting practices for IT expenses, ensuring that the organization remains compliant with GAAP standards. A significant part of the job involves identifying cost-saving opportunities and efficiency improvements within the IT department. This includes analyzing vendor contracts, exploring alternative solutions, and proposing cost-effective strategies. The analyst will also manage IT software licensing, oversee contract lifecycles, and assist in negotiating contracts and pricing with IT vendors, involving IT leadership as necessary. Furthermore, tracking and reconciling various IT invoices, including those related to telecommunication service providers, is a key responsibility of this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Required).
  • 4 years of experience with budgeting software (Preferred).
  • 4 years of experience in forecasting (Preferred).
  • Strong understanding of GAAP accounting principles.
  • Experience in cost management and financial analysis.
