About the position

The IT Business Analyst I at Motion Industries is an entry-level position focused on developing the skills necessary to collect, clarify, analyze, and translate business requirements into documentation and functional requirements. This role acts as a liaison between business operations and information systems, supporting various phases of project management including requirements gathering, design, development, testing, implementation, and application support.

Responsibilities

• Follow processes as outlined with direct supervision.
• Collaborate with project sponsors and project managers to determine project scope and vision and identify project stakeholders for smaller projects.
• Translate stakeholder requirements into functional requirements in a clear manner that is comprehensible to technical members of the project team.
• Define test approach, develop test cases, and perform software tests before implementation to confirm solutions meet business needs and quality.
• Support the development of end-user documentation and training materials as required for new functionality and processes.
• Recommend improvements to strategy, application usage, or process applying knowledge of the business processes in various functional areas.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Typically requires a bachelor's degree and zero (0) to two (2) years of related experience or an equivalent combination.
• Written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate information verbally, visually, and in written format across all levels of the company.
• Developing knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodology.
• Solid technical aptitude.
• Ability to learn appropriate networks, products, and protocols.
