About the position

The IT Business Analyst II (Standard) plays a crucial role within the applications team at KLS Martin L.P., located in Jacksonville, FL. This position is integral to the development and ongoing management of business systems, requiring close collaboration with business owners, subject matter experts, senior management, and other IT team members. The primary responsibility of the IT Business Analyst is to analyze and document business, functional, and technical requirements, which are essential for the development and support of various business systems and applications. In this role, the IT Business Analyst will lead requirements gathering sessions for both new and existing systems, crafting the necessary documentation for each project. This includes the creation and maintenance of Risk Assessments, system testing and validation, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and post-deployment activities. The analyst will follow structured Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) processes, ensuring compliance with FDA and ISO regulations. The position requires a proactive approach to improving systems by studying current practices and recommending modifications. The IT Business Analyst will act as a liaison between business units and technology teams, facilitating change management for existing applications and collaborating with developers to establish a technical vision. The role also involves creating formal Project Risk Assessment Documents and managing documentation throughout the SDLC and STLC processes, ensuring that all regulatory compliance requirements are met, including those related to HIPAA, PHI, and PII.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison between the business units and technology teams
  • Lead requirement gathering sessions
  • Gather, document, and manage requirements and business processes
  • Assess and facilitate change management for existing applications
  • Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs
  • Improve systems by studying current practices and recommending modifications
  • Oversee the implementation of approved process improvements
  • Analyze requirements to produce workflow charts and visual diagrams when necessary for conveying to business users
  • Conduct research and recommend solutions for business problems
  • Create and manage formal Project Risk Assessment Documents
  • Create and manage documents throughout the SDLC process to include Business Requirements Documentation, Test Summary Reports, Deployment Plans, and Implementation Reports
  • Ensure compliance with regulations to include FDA, ISO, HIPAA, PHI and PII
  • Define project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases, and elements
  • Create and manage documents through the STLC process to include Test Case identification and recording, Test Scripts, and Test Summary Reports

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Experience in business analysis or a related role
  • Strong understanding of SDLC and STLC processes
  • Ability to gather and document business requirements effectively
  • Experience with regulatory compliance (FDA, ISO, HIPAA, PHI, PII)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in creating workflow charts and visual diagrams
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
