About the position

The IT Business Analyst II position is responsible for providing process, design, and analysis support for developing solutions that interface with business applications. This role involves driving the requirements elicitation process, influencing collaboration and communication across various initiatives, and serving as a key liaison between the line of business and the Technology Delivery team. The analyst will work on all phases of systems analysis, manage smaller projects, and ensure adherence to organizational policies and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key liaison between the Technology Delivery team and LOBs.
  • Collaborate with peer groups in Technology and LOBs to identify, document and communicate business needs and provide technology solutions.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand business processes and strategies.
  • Establish project and work requests requirements using document, business process and workflow analysis.
  • Facilitate requirements elicitation sessions and walkthroughs with appropriate stakeholders.
  • Perform current state analysis of existing business systems, applications and functions.
  • Prepare user interface diagrams, business process and workflow diagrams.
  • Understand long-term business objectives and suggest strategies to meet those objectives.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with business process owners and other stakeholders.
  • Assist/coordinate pre-planning activities such as business case and project risk assessment.
  • Facilitate routine meetings with business stakeholders to provide updates on in-flight initiatives.
  • Attend business unit management meetings as needed.
  • Become deeply immersed and knowledgeable about core business functions, processes and workflows.
  • Observe and ensure strict adherence to all Technology and Truist policies and standards.
  • Coach and mentor junior level Business Analysts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience with six years of information technology experience, including significant experience in software development.
  • Four years of experience as a business analyst or related role, with experience in Project Management, Business Process Management, Relationship Management, Business Operations, or Quality.
  • Management experience in planning, facilitating, eliciting, documenting and managing business, functional and technical requirements.
  • Experience with traditional Waterfall SDLC and/or Agile/Lean methodologies.
  • Ability to interact with management and business staff to gather and exchange information on work requests/project requirements.
  • Strong presentation, verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects under time constraints.
  • Ability to effectively interface with staff at all levels and resolve conflicts.
  • Exceptional communication, teamwork and influencing skills.
  • Excellent facilitation and organizational skills.
  • Strong critical and analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office.

  • An understanding of current trends in technology.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical data.
  • Experience in Technology Governance, Compliance, Controls, and Process Optimization areas.
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) or International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA) certification.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Visio.
