About the position

The IT Business Analyst II role at Dairy Farmers of America involves participating in a cross-functional team to implement, maintain, and enhance enterprise business applications such as SAP, JDE, and OpenText. The position requires gathering technical requirements, providing input on system design, and supporting post-go-live activities. The analyst will handle moderately complex tasks and projects with increasing independence, contributing to the analysis, design, and implementation of technical business solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the analysis, design, development, documentation, performance testing, and implementation of technical business solutions.
  • Gather and document business requirements; translate them into detailed functional specifications and/or interpret functional specifications; convert them into technical solutions that can be implemented and supported.
  • Design and develop programs (e.g., ABAP) for the application modules implemented.
  • Analyze existing business processes and systems to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with senior analysts and IT teams to design and propose technology solutions.
  • Implement and test IT solutions.
  • Define, gather, and load the master data needed to support applications delivered.
  • Provide support for implemented systems, including moderately complex troubleshooting and issue resolution.
  • Conduct system audits and updates to maintain optimal performance.
  • Train end-users and provide documentation to facilitate system adoption and usage.
  • Monitor system performance.
  • Utilize data analysis tools to extract and interpret data, generating meaningful insights.
  • Create and present reports to management, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
  • Lead straightforward to intermediate-level projects independently, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets.
  • Contribute on larger, more complex projects.
  • Maintain knowledge of advancing technologies and exchange new ideas and suggestions for improvement.
  • Follow best practices that support business requirements and deliverables using approved DFA development and change control methodology.
  • Follow approved DFA project management and governance standards.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in computer science, information technology, or related curriculum (or equivalent combination of experience and education).
  • 2 to 5 years of business systems analysis, information technology, or related experience.
  • Experience with JDE version 8.1/9.0/9.2 and Coupa preferred.
  • 5 years of experience working in accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or fixed asset departments.
  • Solid understanding of requirements gathering, system analysis, and project management.
  • Good understanding of the system/application(s) supported and related master data.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools and ERP systems.
  • Able to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
  • Able to communicate and translate technical topics into easy to understand concepts.
  • Able to clearly document technical processes.
  • Able to demonstrate written and verbal communications skills with the ability to effectively communicate with business users, stakeholders, technical teams, and various levels of management.
  • Able to listen and communicate in a clear and concise manner; able to recognize the audience and tailor communications accordingly.
  • Able to work independently and effectively in a team environment.
  • Able to work on multiple assignments or projects simultaneously, including the ability to prioritize.
  • Able to organize time and resources effectively to achieve goals (i.e., organizational skills).
  • Able to demonstrate strong customer service orientation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of one or more JDE financial modules including general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or fixed assets.
  • General understanding of JDE system architecture, navigation, user-defined objects, interactive and batch applications, running reports and retrieving output.
