About the position

The IT Business Analyst role at Siemens Mobility GmbH involves supporting key manufacturing IT systems, specifically Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), across multiple manufacturing locations. The position requires a technical expert who can effectively communicate complex technical ideas to business leaders and collaborate with various teams to enhance system efficiency and productivity. The role includes responsibilities such as system support, project management, and the development of custom solutions, all while ensuring smooth technology integration within the manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

  • Support and operate Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and related secondary systems in the Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM) software landscape.
  • Serve as the key contact for manufacturing IT system providers and plant managers, handling ongoing services and new demands.
  • Design and establish new warehouse setups within current or new plants, integrating them into existing systems.
  • Steer the strategic development of MES and EWM systems and oversee global migration projects.
  • Coordinate with IT and manufacturing teams to ensure smooth technology integration improving efficiency and productivity.
  • Develop and implement custom solutions and cloud-based hosting approaches, including requirements and their approvals.
  • Work with partners to resolve incidents and identify system-wide improvements.
  • Lead multi-functional projects, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery.
  • Serve as a local authority on new trends and technologies in manufacturing automation and digital technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Logistics, or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience working with Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES).
  • Solid understanding of inventory management, warehouse operations, project and budget management, and supply chain processes.
  • Experience in SAP configuration and customization with SAP modules: MM, PP, EWM, IM, and Basis.
  • Knowledge of software such as LogoS or Siemens OpsCenter is an advantage.
  • Secure handling of Windows Servers and hosting of web-applications (preferably with IIS) in combination with secure authentication methods, e.g. with SSL or X509 certificates.
  • Experience in system integration with REST APIs, ODATA or similar technologies.
  • Knowledge in SQL Database management and SQL programming language.
  • Skills in Cloud infrastructure and virtual cloud networks, preferably with Azure Cloud Platform.
  • Knowledge in one of the following script- or object-oriented languages: Python, JavaScript, Java, C#.
  • Experience with server monitoring software, like Checkmk, Cacti or Nagios.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency in the German language is a plus.
