About the position

The IT Business Analyst with Project Management experience will play a critical role in bridging the gap between business needs and technological solutions. This position is responsible for ensuring that IT projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget, leveraging expertise in both business analysis and project management to drive the success of IT initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business requirements.
  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications and technical requirements for IT projects in Jira.
  • Plan and oversee iterative cycles of development work, ensuring effective communication and reporting processes in Jira.
  • Identify and address technical dependencies throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Plan and coordinate release plans, including back-out/rollback plans, staging pilot tests, and executing full deployment of production releases.
  • Coordinate and conduct system testing and validation to ensure IT solutions meet business requirements and quality standards.
  • Plan, execute, and oversee IT projects from inception to completion, developing project plans, timelines, and budgets.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Serve as a liaison between business units, IT teams, and external vendors, facilitating effective communication and ensuring stakeholders are informed of project status, changes, and milestones.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on new systems and processes, developing user manuals and training materials as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in business analysis and project management within the IT sector.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and tools (e.g. JIRA, Azure DevOps).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in business analysis techniques and tools and use case modeling.
  • Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and IT infrastructure.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is preferred.
