About the position

This position will serve as a senior level business analyst supporting the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS). The primary focus will be on supporting the MDHHS Health and Aging Services Administration & Office of Inspector General systems. The role is crucial in providing technical consultation to MDHHS clients, aimed at developing solutions that streamline critical business processes in alignment with MDHHS' strategic plan. The successful candidate will be integral to the development and maintenance of MDHHS' automated processes, ensuring data integrity, and securing MDHHS systems. As an information technology professional, the position involves participating in a variety of analytical assignments that enhance, integrate, maintain, and implement information systems. The analyst will work closely with various stakeholders to identify needs, gather requirements, and propose effective solutions that improve operational efficiency. This role requires a strong understanding of IT infrastructure and the ability to translate business needs into technical specifications. The analyst will also be responsible for ensuring that all systems comply with relevant regulations and standards, thereby safeguarding the integrity and security of sensitive data.

Responsibilities

  • Support the MDHHS Health and Aging Services Administration & Office of Inspector General systems.
  • Serve as a technical consultant to MDHHS clients to develop solutions for streamlining critical business processes.
  • Develop and maintain MDHHS' automated processes.
  • Ensure data integrity and security of MDHHS systems.
  • Participate in a variety of analytical assignments to enhance, integrate, maintain, and implement information systems.

Requirements

  • Possession of a Bachelor's degree with 21 semester (32 term) credits in computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management, or mathematics.
  • Two years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification in specific information technology programs may be preferred.
