About the position

The Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) plays a crucial role in supporting the business operations of state agencies in Michigan. This includes a wide range of services such as building management, information technology, centralized contracting, budget management, and oversight of state retirement systems. The position of IT Business Analyst is situated within the Agency Services area of DTMB and is specifically focused on supporting the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS). This role is pivotal in enhancing the operational efficiency of MDHHS by streamlining critical business processes in alignment with the department's strategic plan. As a senior-level business analyst, the incumbent will act as a technical consultant to MDHHS clients, developing solutions that improve business processes and ensure data integrity. The position involves leading application development throughout all phases of the software development lifecycle, which includes planning, design, implementation, and maintenance of information systems. The analyst will also be responsible for mentoring less experienced business analysts and overseeing the work of project team members, which may include both state employees and contractors. This role requires a self-motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to tackle challenges. In addition to technical responsibilities, the position offers a competitive work experience, including a tuition reduction program at various higher education institutions, health, life, dental, vision, and disability insurances, paid maternity leave, and a generous 401(k) matching program. Employees also benefit from flexible spending accounts, vacation and sick time policies, and 14 paid holidays, all contributing to a healthy work-life balance.
