About the position

The IT Business Analyst at Holland America Line will act as a crucial link between business objectives and development solutions for the Holland America and Seabourn websites. This role involves gathering, refining, and translating high-level requirements into detailed specifications for the development team, ensuring that business goals are met while delivering an exceptional user experience. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including Product Managers, UX Designers, and Analytics teams, to support the development process effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Review High-Level Requirements and collaborate with Product Managers, Content teams, and other stakeholders to understand the scope of proposed projects.
  • Review UX designs and collaborate with UX designers.
  • Create detailed Jira stories with Acceptance Criteria, including bugs.
  • Create business requirements, rules, and functional specification documents for various projects that will incorporate screen designs, use cases, and API updates.
  • Lead grooming sessions.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies.
  • Support and unblock development teams by answering requirement questions and setting up test data.
  • Understand authoring needs to create author instructions for demos.
  • From time to time lead other agile ceremonies (ex: standups).
  • Work closely with QA/SDET's for testing and requirement clarification.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree - Business, Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a software development business analyst role as well as experience delivering business systems solutions in an enterprise IT environment.
  • Jira Experience
  • Creating Confluence Pages for Documentation
  • Ability to gather requirements and turn into detailed Jira ticket requirements.
  • Ability to document business requirements, acceptance criteria and use cases.
  • Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies
  • Presentation skills to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Support development teams
  • Collaborate with Product Management, UX and content teams.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle changing priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and verbal/written skills.
  • Excellent collaboration and leadership skills, and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
