About the position

Holland America Line is seeking an IT Business Analyst to act as a liaison between business objectives and development solutions for their websites. This role involves gathering and refining requirements, collaborating with various teams, and ensuring that business goals are met while delivering an exceptional user experience.

Responsibilities

  • Review high-level requirements and collaborate with Product Managers and stakeholders to understand project scope.
  • Review UX designs and collaborate with UX designers.
  • Create detailed Jira stories with acceptance criteria, including bugs.
  • Create business requirements, rules, and functional specification documents for various projects.
  • Lead grooming sessions and participate in Agile ceremonies.
  • Support and unblock development teams by answering requirement questions and setting up test data.
  • Create author instructions for demos based on authoring needs.
  • Lead other Agile ceremonies as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a software development business analyst role.
  • Experience delivering business systems solutions in an enterprise IT environment.
  • Proficiency in Jira and Confluence for documentation.
  • Ability to gather requirements and translate them into detailed Jira ticket requirements.
  • Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and verbal/written skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the travel or cruise industry.
  • Familiarity with ADA compliance in web design.
  • Experience with API updates and integrations.
