About the position
Westaff is seeking a temporary IT Business Analyst to assist with large data system migrations and implementation projects for a State office in Helena, MT. The role involves providing business analysis support, including requirements analysis, documentation of business processes, and testing of data in the modernized Vital Records system and public health instance of the Snowflake data lake. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders and participation in weekly meetings.
Responsibilities
- Provide business analysis assistance for large data system migrations and implementation projects.
- Conduct requirements analysis and documentation of business processes.
- Migrate and test data in the modernized Vital Records system and public health instance of the Snowflake data lake.
- Validate data and track defects.
- Test data modules.
- Coordinate efforts with the development team.
- Work with subject experts and vendors.
- Participate in weekly meetings with DPHHS staff and vendors.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, computer science, computer programming, systems development, public health or medical informatics, electronic information management, or comparable math or science disciplines with significant coursework in information systems.
- Attention to detail.
- Experience with data systems and data testing.
- Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
- Self-motivated and able to effectively prioritize projects.
- 3 years of experience as a business analyst or related work.
- Experience handling confidential data.
Nice-to-haves
- Data validation experience preferred.
