About the position

The IT Business Analyst will support a financial services client in Suffolk, VA, ensuring that banking applications and systems are effectively implemented and aligned with the bank's business objectives. This role involves close collaboration with product managers, lines of business, and development teams to enhance member satisfaction and improve banking products and services.

Responsibilities

• Gather and document business requirements that can be translated into clear functional system specifications.
• Evaluate existing systems and recommend design improvements based on business requirements.
• Act as a liaison between business users and technical teams to ensure a clear understanding of functionality.
• Coordinate and lead testing and quality assurance activities to ensure systems meet member needs and business requirements.
• Identify potential risks related to new system implementations.
• Assist in the analysis of system issues.
• Maintain a detailed understanding of the bank's current technical infrastructure.
• Develop test scenarios and test scripts with business users.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements by leveraging technology.
• Provide technical assistance and guidance during the setup of new systems.
• Help address technical challenges that arise.
• Validate technology solutions with a long-term usage view and flexibility for future changes.
• Act as a feedback mechanism from business to make necessary changes and improvements in solution development.
• Create system documentation.
• Adhere to applicable federal laws, rules, and regulations including those related to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA).

Requirements

• Ability to understand business processes.
• Technical skills including knowledge of APIs, data mapping processes, SQL, data visualization tools, and cloud computing technologies.
• Strong communication skills with business and technology leaders, both within and outside the organization.
• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or related field with 5 years of professional experience.
• Strong familiarity with the financial services industry and technology concepts.
