About the position

The IT Business Partner Manager at Varian serves as the primary liaison for the R&D/Product teams, ensuring alignment between business needs and IT service delivery. This role focuses on consulting, managing relationships, and driving digitalization efforts to create value through IT solutions. The manager will oversee the demand process, maintain high customer satisfaction, and produce key performance indicators for management reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain Business Partner Relationships.
  • Engage with business proactively to identify demands on tactical and strategic levels.
  • Understand business needs and translate them into IT requirements.
  • Evaluate customer satisfaction and collect business feedback.
  • Provide business with KPIs on overall and specific IT performance.
  • Ensure best practice usage of commodity services.
  • Manage business complaints and partner with Centers of Excellence (CoE)/Centers of Competence (CoC) specialists as required.
  • Identify and manage R&D/Product demands in alignment with business value and IT governance strategy.
  • Drive the decision-making process as needed.
  • Create opportunities where IT can add additional business value.
  • Advise business on current IT portfolio of services and future IT requirements.
  • Serve as the executive touchpoint for a portfolio of projects and Business IT processes.
  • Ensure that CoEs and CoCs understand the needs of the business.
  • Promote IT innovations and new services to the organization.
  • Maintain IT budget and IT Project Portfolio in partnership with business and finance to optimize IT spend for best value.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Engineering in related discipline.
  • 10 years of related experience.
  • 5 years management experience.
  • Advanced communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Advanced presentation skills.
  • Business process mapping and value stream mapping.
  • Business requirements analysis.
  • Knowledge of Siemens Healthineers business and product lines.
  • Understanding of SHS IT Service Portfolio.
  • Familiarity with PLM/SCM business processes.
  • Knowledge of IT infrastructure services and architecture.
  • Understanding of information security and data privacy in the healthcare industry.
  • Experience with IT systems in a quality regulated medical environment.
  • Knowledge of current IT technologies and standards.
  • ITIL knowledge and ITSM experience.
  • Experience working with Lean, Agile, and/or CCPM methodologies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Engineering.
  • Experience working in a PLM, SCM, or product development organization.
  • Project management experience within large/complex business-driven projects.
  • Vendor/supplier management experience.
  • ITIL Certification or process knowledge.
