About the position

The IT Business & Quality Assurance Analyst at Cornell University plays a crucial role in supporting the Alumni Affairs & Development division by driving technology projects that enhance alumni engagement and university initiatives. This position involves collaborating with various stakeholders to gather requirements, ensuring thorough testing and quality assurance, and implementing process improvements to align with strategic goals.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements and translate them into functional specifications.
• Lead testing efforts by developing test plans, scripts, and cases, and perform validation testing.
• Serve as a liaison between technical teams and business users, communicating complex technical concepts in accessible language.
• Analyze current business processes to identify areas for improvement and recommend changes that streamline operations.
• Organize project documents, track progress, and manage project deliverables.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• 5-7 years of experience in IT Business Analysis and Quality Assurance, including 1-3 years supporting technology-driven projects.
• Proficiency with JIRA, Confluence, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio), and other productivity and analysis tools.
• Familiarity with SQL, data analysis, and Agile methodologies is a plus.
• Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to identify root causes and devise solutions.
