About the position

The Riverside University Health System (RUHS) is seeking an IT Business Systems Analyst III to join the Applications Division Team. This role is pivotal in supporting, troubleshooting, testing, developing, customizing, configuring, and implementing technology applications, systems, and solutions specifically related to timekeeping and payroll. The incumbent will engage in research and development of new technologies aimed at enhancing the customer experience. This position requires a comprehensive analysis of processes and systems, including refining and documenting business requirements from customers involved in the development, implementation, and production support of integrated systems. Candidates should possess strong skills in resolving technical application system issues through data gathering and analysis, logical reasoning, and drawing valid conclusions. A solid understanding of enterprise application processes and the interrelation of technologies in maintaining integrated systems is essential. Competitive candidates will have experience with applications such as HRMS, EPIC, PeopleSoft, PeopleSoft Application Designer, PeopleTools, UKG Pro Workforce Management, and/or UKG Workforce Central. The role involves conducting systems analysis and design of business processes, evaluating current and proposed information and business process flows, and assessing available and emerging technology hardware and software. Analysts will document new organizational processes, generate management reports on new technology, and develop user requirements based on end-user input for both new and existing systems. The position also includes selecting and recommending software or hardware based on thorough systems analysis, creating requests for proposals (RFPs), and implementing new or modified processes and systems through design, application development, installation, and testing. Additionally, the analyst will maintain, support, and administer software applications while providing customer support, training, and problem analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct systems analysis and design of business processes involving evaluation of current and proposed information and business process flow, available and emerging technology hardware and software, and cost/benefits.
  • Analyze projects; document new organizational processes; generate reports for management on new technology.
  • Develop and document user requirements from end-user input for new and existing systems, business processes, and applications.
  • Select and recommend software or hardware based on systems analysis, evaluation of product, and vendors.
  • Create requests for proposal (RFPs) or requirement specifications and evaluate proposal submissions.
  • Implement new and modified processes and systems by performing design, application development, installation and testing.
  • Modify software; customize business applications and interfaces.
  • Coordinate and communicate with end users, management, staff, and vendors on project issues and status.
  • Develop project work plans and schedules and monitor project resources including staff time, vendor work, and finances.
  • Prepare project documents, requirements, reports, feasibility studies, cost/benefit analysis, and quality assurance and control standards.
  • Maintain, support, and administer software applications.
  • Provide customer support, training, and problem analysis for software applications.

Requirements

  • Completion of 30 semester or 45 quarter units from an accredited college or university, preferably with coursework in computer science, computer information systems, data processing, information management, or a related field.
  • Four years of successful journey level IT job-related experience, one year of which included either lead person duties or technically advanced IT job-related work.
  • Knowledge of the principles, methods and techniques used in the course of work for the IT Business Systems Analyst series; principles and techniques applied to IT devices, applications and systems; principles of organization and administration; principles of documentation and recordkeeping, storage and retrieval.
  • Ability to gather and analyze data, reason logically, draw valid conclusions and make appropriate recommendations; resolve technical problems and innovate more efficient use of IT resources; perform systems analysis work and problem solving; interpret and follow written and oral instructions; prepare concise reports and documents; establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, customers, other employees, and the public; communicate effectively with people at all organizational levels.
