About the position

The IT Business Systems Analyst at Hampton Roads Transit plays a crucial role in enhancing public transportation services by identifying and documenting process improvement opportunities. This position requires strong technical knowledge and writing skills to create proposals, specifications, and training plans, while collaborating with management and various stakeholders. The analyst will work on complex assignments that involve data analysis, documentation, and the development of procedures to improve efficiency and decision-making within the Technology Department.

Responsibilities

• Identify data from primary or secondary sources.
• Analyze and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
• Develop work standards and method improvements.
• Create presentations and charts for data dissemination.
• Write and edit manuals for new or revised procedures and policies.
• Conduct market research to support proposal development.
• Interpret data and provide ongoing reports using statistical techniques.
• Develop and update technical documentation adhering to guidelines.
• Facilitate meetings to extract requirements for projects.
• Support software testing documentation activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
• At least 3 years of experience writing technical documentation.
• 10+ years of general cross-functional technology experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
