About the position

Copley Hospital is seeking a Clinical Interface Engineer to join its IT department. This role involves serving as the primary contact and subject matter expert for clinical and operational interfaces, working closely with internal clients and vendors to install and maintain interface engines, build workflows, and troubleshoot system issues. The position requires strong problem-solving skills, time management, and effective communication to meet project expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, coordinate, develop, test, and maintain clinical and operational systems exchanging data via HL7, DICOM, and other interface protocols.
  • Support proprietary and industry standard interfaces between clinical equipment, servers, software, and outside entities.
  • Provide support for electronic medical records system interfaces including configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Educate staff members regarding process changes and workflow modifications related to interface installations and upgrades.
  • Provide electronic medical records system training to individuals and/or groups in formal or informal settings.
  • Communicate changes or new initiatives and key issues to supervisors, physicians, and staff.
  • Assume special projects as directed and document them appropriately.
  • Attend meetings and seminars as directed.
  • Provide after hours on-call and help desk coverage in accordance with department rotation.
  • Support all clinical and business applications as well as network, server, and user hardware.

Requirements

  • Minimum two years clinical interface engineering experience.
  • Two years experience in a healthcare client or healthcare-related environment.
  • Complex project management experience desired.

Nice-to-haves

  • CorePoint, Rhapsody, Cloverleaf, or Mirth certification desired.
  • In-depth knowledge of EMRs.
  • Experience administering interfaces.
  • Experience with database and programming languages.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with staff at various levels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Impeccable time management.
