About the position

The Cloud Engineer II is an experienced professional responsible for advanced cloud infrastructure design, configuration, and optimization. This role is crucial in enhancing cloud-based applications and implementing automation for efficiency. The Cloud Engineer II will work closely with development and operations teams to ensure that cloud solutions are scalable and highly available. This position also involves mentoring junior engineers, providing them with the necessary technical guidance and support in complex cloud projects. The engineer will be expected to troubleshoot and resolve cloud-related issues and incidents, ensuring that the cloud environment operates smoothly and securely. In this role, the engineer will implement infrastructure as code (IAC) using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation, which is essential for maintaining and developing cloud infrastructure efficiently. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is key to optimizing resource utilization and managing costs effectively. The engineer will also focus on improving security practices and compliance within cloud environments, ensuring that all operations adhere to industry standards and regulations. The position requires a strong understanding of networking, security, and compliance in the cloud, as well as the ability to design and implement complex cloud solutions that meet the needs of the organization. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of multiple cloud platforms and services, along with proven experience in automation tools and scripting languages such as Python and PowerShell. Leadership and mentoring capabilities are essential, as the engineer will be responsible for guiding junior cloud engineers in their professional development. A successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, along with at least 2 years of relevant experience and successful completion of multiple cloud projects.
