About the position

The IT Communications Technician I at Denver International Airport is responsible for the installation, repair, alignment, and maintenance of various RF systems and equipment. This role involves working with portable 800MHz radios, vehicle radio equipment, and resolving Tier 1 RF Communications Systems issues. The technician will also assist in the design and configuration of IT communications infrastructure, providing technical guidance for customer inquiries and troubleshooting complex issues.

Responsibilities

• Repair and program portable 800MHz radios.
• Perform vehicle radio equipment installations, strips, and repairs.
• Resolve Tier 1 RF Communications Systems issues.
• Participate in monthly on-call rotation (includes stand-by pay).
• Assist in the design, planning, construction, and configuration of the IT communications infrastructure.
• Provide technical guidance for customer inquiries and Service Desk escalations on complex issues regarding communication infrastructure.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot problems and resolve or refer to the appropriate IT resource.
• Assist in the design, maintenance, and modifications of electronic and communication systems for voice, data, and video delivery.
• Assist with the design and implementation of infrastructure and server/application administration.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Three years of experience performing IT communications maintenance, repair, and installation.
• Valid Driver's License.

Nice-to-haves

• FCC General Radio Operators License (preferred, not required).
• Formal education, experience, or training in RF fundamentals.
• Experience with radios and radio systems.
• Experience with Distributed Antenna Systems.
• Experience with VHF radio systems.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
