About the position

The IT Consultant Principal serves as the lead technical expert across project teams, responsible for setting technical direction and overseeing all IT systems. This senior-level individual contributor plays a crucial role in driving the execution of multiple work streams, ensuring alignment with business strategies, and fostering collaboration among cross-functional teams. The position involves leading teams in developing requirements for process or system solutions, evaluating third-party vendors, and advocating for process improvements that align with the organization's strategic goals.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the execution of multiple work streams by identifying customer and operational needs.
  • Develop and update new procedures and policies; gain cross-functional support for objectives and priorities.
  • Translate business strategy into actionable business requirements and obtain necessary resources.
  • Set standards and measure progress while removing obstacles that impact performance.
  • Guide performance and develop contingency plans; solve highly complex issues.
  • Influence the completion of project tasks by others and promote self-leadership among team members.
  • Lead a team of IT consultants in developing requirements for process or system solutions across multiple business domains.
  • Leverage business requirements gathering methodologies to identify business, functional, and non-functional requirements.
  • Oversee the development and documentation of comprehensive business cases to assess costs, benefits, ROI, and TCO of complex solution proposals.
  • Lead the evolution of applications, systems, and processes to a desired future state by mapping current state against future state processes.
  • Provide insight to executive management on integrating requirements with current systems and business processes.
  • Review, evaluate, and prioritize value gaps and opportunities for process enhancements.
  • Lead solution design by translating requirements into workable business solutions and conducting design sessions with IT teams.
  • Advocate for additional data and services needed to address key business issues related to process or solutions design.
  • Evaluate third-party vendors as directed and drive continuous process improvement across the enterprise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, CIS, or related field.
  • Minimum ten (10) years of experience in IT consulting, business analysis, or a related field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Five (5) years of experience working for a health care organization.
  • Five (5) years of experience working for an IT organization.
