About the position

The IT Customer Support Analyst position is responsible for providing customer support for the resolution of complex desktop application operational and use issues. The analyst assists users in analyzing and identifying technology solutions to meet business requirements in areas of assigned responsibility. This role includes conducting analyses, testing, writing documentation, and implementing deployment packages for new applications and software upgrades. The ideal candidate will possess technical expertise and interpersonal skills, enabling them to effectively engage with employees, customers, and team members with varying levels of IT understanding. They should have experience working on an enterprise IT support team, particularly with a focus on service desk, software procurement and deployment, and level 1 and level 2 IT-related issues. The candidate hired will be required to pass a drug screening, background check, and may be required to pass a job-related physical evaluation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer support for the resolution of complex desktop application operational and use issues.
  • Assist users in analyzing and identifying technology solutions to meet business requirements.
  • Conduct analyses, tests, write documentation, and implement deployment packages for new applications and software upgrades.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex customer support issues involving software, communication, and interoperability problems.
  • Establish priorities and balance responsibilities for multiple activities to ensure timely, high-quality results.

Requirements

  • Graduation from a college or university with major coursework in information systems, computer science, mathematics, or a closely related field.
  • Three years of responsible information technology experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • A valid Nevada driver's license and ability to maintain insurability under the District's Vehicle Insurance Policy.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working on an enterprise IT support team.
  • Familiarity with service desk operations, software procurement, and deployment.
  • Knowledge of change control principles, Systems Development Life Cycle, and standard systems design principles.
