About the position

The IT Cyber Security Analyst will play a crucial role in the IT team at Seneca Resources Company, LLC, focusing on enhancing the organization's cybersecurity posture. This position involves monitoring security incidents, configuring security systems, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards. The analyst will also be responsible for conducting vulnerability assessments and overseeing employee cybersecurity training.

Responsibilities

  • Interpret logs, alarms and incidents with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM).
  • Configure, edit and create system rules in Security Information and Event Management (SIEM).
  • Coordinate with Security Operations Center (SOC) and investigate security incidents.
  • Direct and coordinate responses with team members and other departments.
  • Configure, test, deploy and monitor usage templates for web and DNS filtering systems.
  • Configure rules, deploy policies and review incidents within the Intrusion Prevention System (IPS).
  • Coordinate changes with managed services providers.
  • Conduct and analyze security vulnerability scans of devices and applications to identify weaknesses.
  • Identify and deploy remediation processes.
  • Review, research, recommend and deploy updates and patches of operating systems and applications with patch management systems.
  • Oversee cyber security employee awareness program and training systems.
  • Enhance application and security posture with Multifactor Authentication (MFA).
  • Conduct security reviews of proposed upgrades and new implementations of IT systems and applications.
  • Produce security system related reports for management.
  • Comply with Seneca's EHSQ policies, standards and procedures and demonstrate active and regular involvement in EHSQ programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM).
  • Experience with Firewalls or Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS).
  • Windows server administration experience is preferred.
