About the position

The Cyber Security Consultant role at Guidehouse involves advising clients on cybersecurity and privacy controls, refreshing cybersecurity policies, and assisting in risk management within government cloud environments. The consultant will work collaboratively with clients and stakeholders to deliver high-quality consulting services while staying updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in cybersecurity.

Responsibilities

• Proofread and format technical and policy documents.
• Refresh and establish cybersecurity policies and procedures.
• Advise clients in cybersecurity and privacy controls and regulations including various NIST frameworks and FISMA.
• Interpret security control intent and apply to technologies and processes.
• Assist clients in identifying and mitigating security risks in government cloud environments.
• Actively participate in cybersecurity consulting engagements and work with a team and the client to deliver high-quality work.
• Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in IT general controls and cybersecurity.
• Work across multiple stakeholders to understand business needs, concerns, and risks.
• Analyze problems, apply quantitative analytical approaches, communicate effectively and confidently, and work well in a team environment.
• Create high-quality presentations and reports to effectively communicate project findings.

Requirements

• Demonstrated understanding of functional cybersecurity concepts like risk management, IT audit, or comparable domain.
• Strong time and project management skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's Degree in cybersecurity, information systems, or comparable degree.
• Familiarity with federal government clients.
• Experience in cybersecurity risk management, IT audit, or comparable domain.
• Cybersecurity certifications (Security+, CISA, CISSP, CEH).
• Experience with managing/supporting and/or knowledge of cybersecurity or high value asset program.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
