About the position

The IT Cybersecurity Associate Engineer at CommonSpirit Health is responsible for monitoring the threat landscape and identifying technological solutions to protect the organization from cyber threats. This entry-level position involves designing, developing, and implementing cybersecurity solutions, as well as serving as a subject matter expert in specific areas of security and identity management. The role emphasizes collaboration with various associates to resolve security issues and improve processes within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, configures, and implements solutions to resolve complex technical and business issues related to information security.
  • Reviews and consults on security of technology solutions to resolve high technical and business issues.
  • Designs, develops, and implements new solutions to integrate into existing or newly defined architecture.
  • Provides support and works on multiple functions of high complexity.
  • Serves as SME for one or more technical solutions.
  • Manages workload, prioritizing tasks and other duties as directed by management, as well as assisting other team members.
  • Interfaces with a variety of associates pertaining to reported issues or in the resolution of security events.
  • Responds in a timely manner (within documented SLA) to support tickets and promptly addresses issues.
  • Pursues continuing education to grow and maintain knowledge of best practices, compliance, requirements, threats and trends in information security, translating into operational action items, policies, procedures, standards and guidelines.
  • Assists in Continual Service Improvement efforts by identifying opportunities for process improvement and recommending needed updates to Standard Operating Procedures and other similar documentation.
  • Acts as a security advocate for adherence to CommonSpirit Health policies and industry best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 0-2 years of job-related experience preferred.
