Austin Industries is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer I to join our team at the corporate headquarters in Dallas, Texas. This role is crucial in implementing, administering, and monitoring various cybersecurity solutions that protect the company's on-premise and cloud digital assets. Reporting to the Cybersecurity Manager, the Cybersecurity Engineer I will be responsible for continuously improving the organization's cybersecurity posture. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in cybersecurity principles and practices, as well as hands-on experience with various security technologies and solutions. In this position, you will troubleshoot and resolve cybersecurity-related support tickets that have been escalated from the helpdesk and other IT groups. You will monitor the environment for security events and respond accordingly, working closely with Managed Service Providers (MSPs) to resolve security alerts and conduct investigations. Daily responsibilities will include hands-on administration of the network infrastructure, reviewing logs, performing physical inspections, testing for vulnerabilities, and maintaining documentation. You will also participate in an on-call rotation schedule and perform monthly vulnerability scans to ensure the security of our systems. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work with various teams to ensure that servers and workstations are kept up to date with security patches. You will lead and participate in cybersecurity-related projects, interface with employees and management to identify issues, and provide strong customer service. Additionally, you will manage firewalls, web filters, IDS/IPS, and other security tools, while researching and implementing new cybersecurity technologies. Your contributions will include creating training materials for IT support personnel and providing input on the development and implementation of cybersecurity solutions across the organization. The Cybersecurity Engineer I will continually seek ways to improve the cybersecurity posture of the organization, identifying security gaps and risks, and providing recommendations for mitigation. You will also be involved in planning, implementing, and upgrading security measures and controls, as well as installing necessary hardware and network equipment as needed. This role may require occasional travel to remote job sites or office locations on an as-needed basis.
