About the position

The IT Cybersecurity Specialist position is a critical role within the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) that supports the mission of the US Cyber Command. This position involves providing expert advice and assistance to customers, troubleshooting complex IT issues, and ensuring that customer service requirements are met. The specialist will develop and manage customer performance requirements, analyze operational problems, and maintain a comprehensive database of technical resolutions. This role requires a strong understanding of customer support concepts and the ability to communicate technical information effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Provides advice and assistance to customers and troubleshoots complex problems to minimize interruptions in critical business activities.
  • Develops and manages customer performance requirements and support policies and procedures.
  • Analyzes and resolves a complete range of problems within the scope of activity operations, referring specialized issues to technical experts.
  • Serves on application implementation teams to ensure customer service requirements are addressed.
  • Reviews technical and design specifications to meet customer requirements.
  • Develops, updates, and maintains a comprehensive database of technical resolutions.
  • Evaluates and reports on new tools and trends in the customer support field.
  • Applies knowledge and skills in customer support concepts and troubleshooting procedures.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Experience reviewing IT policies and drafting reports on IT subject matter.
  • Experience providing briefings to management on IT subject matter.
  • Experience interpreting IT policies for effectiveness and making recommendations for improvements.
  • Experience developing IT policy for application in an organization and applying project management principles.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a military or government IT environment.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and standards.
  • Knowledge of customer support tools and technologies.
