About the position

The Cybersecurity Senior Engineer at CommonSpirit Health is responsible for designing, developing, configuring, and implementing solutions to address complex technical and business challenges related to data security. This role focuses on Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and Unstructured Data Protection, contributing to the overall data security architecture while collaborating with senior staff to enhance security strategies across hybrid and cloud-based applications. The position may also involve team leadership and acting as a Subject Matter Expert in data security.

Responsibilities

  • Leads data security initiatives including deployment of data protection solutions and development of data loss policies.
  • Guides and mentors engineers in troubleshooting and developing custom scripts for securing systems.
  • Conducts root-cause analysis to determine improvement strategies for failures.
  • Participates in Continual Service Improvement efforts by identifying process improvement opportunities.
  • Drives the reduction of enterprise and organizational cybersecurity risk.
  • Manages workload, prioritizes tasks, and documents time and other duties.
  • Collects, documents, and disseminates vital information for the team.
  • Champions knowledge management and collaboration systems for the Cybersecurity team.
  • Communicates complex technical information to team members and management levels.
  • Acts as a security advocate for IT operations teams in adherence to policies and best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 4-5 years of job-related experience required.
  • Knowledge of Data Loss Prevention techniques, Endpoint Security, and Policy Management.
  • Experience with Trellix, Skyhigh, CASB, and managing over 100k endpoints.
  • Proficient understanding of regulatory and compliance mandates, including HIPAA, HITECH, PCI, and Sarbanes-Oxley.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare environments preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with CASB and cloud-based DLP solutions is preferred.
